FAQ

How much does this cost?
For the pre-assessment, all international residency costs (not including airfare), coaching during the residency and 3-4 months of follow-up support, an approximate cost would be $5500 (Canadian). Costs vary based on location and duration. For a more detailed quote please submit an inquiry on our contact us page.
I am an individual who wishes to do this without corporate support is that possible?
We travel with between 8-12 learners to a destination. This group can be individuals who are unknown to each other and self funded, and/or small groups from several companies, and they can also be representatives of a single company. We would work with all groups to try to accommodate preferred travel dates and locations.
How long is the overseas component?
The minimal length of stay is 6 days in the host country with two days added to this for travel. Options do exist to extend this length of stay if desired.
Does the residency component have to occur overseas?
Yes, the overseas experience can create a different experience as the familiar surroundings and language are replaced with new structures and expectations. Ease of access to regular communications (phone, email etc) and to familiar food and language can reduce the power of the experience.
What kind of accommodation will be available?
Being in different surroundings can be challenging enough for some people so a typical experience would not include a "boot camp" mentality where all comforts are stripped away. Accommodations are found that are close to the community of work and that are basic and clean. Again, however, a more rustic experience may be arranged if preferred.
What kind of food will be available?
Wherever possible participants will partake of local food and customs. Evening meals will typically occur at a restaurant but may change with the nature of the work and location of the program. The Acacia Group facilitators will also make available snacks and beverages through the day.
How many hours a day am I expected to contribute to the community?
Each participant is expected to work approx 5 hours a day in the community, but this will vary based on the communities need, location and resources etc. This time permits appropriate coaching, rest and reflection.
What is the ratio of Acacia Group personnel to the participants?
The Acacia Group will provide two coaches and at least one logistics manager to each community. This will be in addition to the resources that may be available from our local partners. Additionally, an interpreter will also be available. For more information or answers to more questions contact us.
