Socially Responsible Leadership Experiences
Why we do this?

Regardless of the nature of business, increasingly stakeholders are examining the role of the corporation in contributing to a social society. Shareholders are interested in the bottom line and the longer term sustainability of the organization; customers want to know that their exists an ethical imperative that measures social justice and the role of the company in society; and finally, personnel of all ages are increasingly looking for a way to give back and to be associated with a company that puts people alongside profits. There is a need to focus attention on these groups while also responding to the interests of the supply chain, business partners and those communities touched by corporate activities.

The Acacia Group works with your leaders to allow them to fully integrate their thinking about corporate social responsibility into the activities of the organization. We help shrink the gaps between concept and practice – what is good for society is good for your company.

By engaging leaders in an experience that is outside their norm and perhaps their comfort level there is an increased ability for them think and act differently; the coaching then captures the reflections on these differences and applies them to the workplace.

Quote

"We started this knowing that it was about business, but somewhere along the way we instead learned about humanity...It’s really about realizing that you want to make something out of your life...and that you want to touch other people’s lives” Leader, Unilever Asia, Beyond Good Company, 2007

Prevailing Approaches

The fact is, the prevailing approaches to CSR are so fragmented and disconnected from business and strategy as to obscure many of the greatest opportunities for business to benefit society. If, instead corporations were to analyze their prospects for social responsibility using the same frameworks that guide their core business choices, they would discover that CSR can be far more than a cost, a constraint, or a charitable deed – it can be a source of opportunity, innovation and competitive advantage.
