Socially Responsible Leadership Experiences
Me to We - Kenya

Me to We, along with Craig and Marc Kielburger the founders, has been recognized by numerous prestigious awards for this new model of social entrepreneurship. One of the most notable honours is the national Ernst & Young Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The nationally televised award celebration spoke of how Me to We has been able to use business practices to create a new definition of a triple bottom line.

Where did Me to We start?  In 1995, 12-year-old Craig Kielburger had his eyes opened to the harsh realities of child labour. He started a school-based club to raise funds and awareness. Today, together with his brother, Marc, Free The Children has grown into an international phenomenon with more than one million youth in North America taking action for a better world.

Along the way the brothers learned two important lessons.  The first lesson was a simple truth: anyone can change the world.  The second lesson was about the need for a revolution in 'charity.'For more information visit their website at www.metowe.com

Me to We is pushing forward the boundaries of charity, social justice and creating change. It's a worldwide movement proving yet again that anyone can change the world – and revolutionizing how we make that change.   Me to We is a family of social enterprises that is challenging notions of consumption, and redefining the relationship between business and charity. Me to We itself is neither a traditional charity nor an ordinary corporation. Their goal is to change the world. We're helping Free The Children become sustainable in their work, supporting them in their goal to end poverty and thus put themselves out of a job.

Meet and learn from the local elders and community leaders, walk with the "mamas" to draw water, learn Swahili each day and help build a school or clean water project for children in need.
